Meet Our Tea Instructors –
Voices of Japanese Tea

At Ichikawaen, our tea instructors are more than educators — they are cultural ambassadors, craftsmen of experience, and guardians of Japanese tea heritage.
Each instructor carries years of study, tasting, and hands-on training. Their mission is to help people all over the world understand that tea is not just a drink, but a way to connect hearts, calm the mind, and celebrate the beauty of everyday life.

Our instructors conduct tea seminars, brewing demonstrations, and tasting events across Japan and overseas. They teach how to brew tea properly, but more importantly, they share the philosophy and mindfulness behind each cup — the Japanese spirit of omotenashi (hospitality) and respect for nature.

They also work closely with Ichikawaen “Chashi”, learning the art of blending, roasting, and sensory evaluation.
This collaboration ensures that what they teach is not theoretical, but grounded in the real craft of tea.
From the soil to the teacup, our instructors are the storytellers who convey the passion of the people who make Shizuoka tea possible.

Through their dedication, Our philosophy continues to spread far beyond Shizuoka — inspiring a new generation to discover, appreciate, and share the joy of authentic Japanese tea.
